OVERVIEW
The primary purpose of a Board and Audit Committee is to provide oversight over governance, risk management and controls. While boards should seek members who can provide a diverse range of competent perspectives based on their experience and expertise, it is nevertheless imperative that board members are knowledgeable and conversant in financial management and reporting, internal and external audit process, the organization systems of internal controls (financial and non-financial) and compliance. This need is particularly acute for the audit committee members.
It is through these protections that the organization’s stakeholders can have trust on the sustainability of the organization. It is with this in mind that the Institute of Internal Auditors has organized a 3 day workshop to provide practical top tips on a wide where a range of topics including the following:
