Internal Audit Quality Assessors program

DATE: Wednesday, 7th - Friday, 9th August 2019
VENUE: Gelian Hotel, Machakos

As an organization grows and its internal processes change and evolve, its quality monitoring process must keep pace. To ensure consistent quality in this dynamic environment, an ongoing commitment to growth and improvement is essential.
Internal Auditing Standard 1300, requires the head of Internal Audit to develop and maintain a quality assurance and improvement programme that includes internal and external assessments. Internal assessments involve ongoing monitoring of the performance of the internal audit activity and periodic self-assessment by persons within the organization with sufficient knowledge of internal audit practices. External assessments, on the other hand, are to be conducted by a qualified, independent assessor/s from outside the organization at least once every 5 years. The Regulations and the Internal Audit Guidelines provide for the external quality assessment to be undertaken at least once every 3 years but not later than 5 years.

The course is for all heads of internal audit and internal audit managers in public and private sector entities who have at least 3 years’ experience in internal audit. The Workshop will be held on 7th-9th August 2019 at Gelian Hotel, Machakos. Charges are Kshs. 80,000.

Prerequisites: It is recommended that participants take Building a Sustainable Quality Program or have equivalent experience as a prerequisite to this course, as well as an understanding of the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF).
