The Training of Trainers (ToT) workshop will make use of master trainers in coaching trainers to develop content, skill, tools, and techniques useful in conducting training effectively. This workshop is looking at building a pool of competent instructors who can then teach the material to other people. The workshop will make use of experienced trainers to teach, complete exercises, and practice teaching segments to develop participants’ skills in developing and making effective presentations. The trainers will incorporate elements of the IIA Continuous Professional Education (CPE) policy and embed best practices for training.
The workshop will cover:
- Practices in delivering training on selected IIA programs.
- Adult learning principles.
- Facilitative skills to promote learner engagement, reflective practice, critical thinking, and skill acquisition.
- Delivering key training strategies commonly used such as brainstorming, processing or process checks, roleplays, and practice sessions.
- Presentation skills, developing slides and conducting training using online platforms.
- Use of appropriate levels of intervention when managing difficult training situations, including disruptive learner behaviors.
- Initiating a personal plan of action to strengthen their training and facilitation skills.
- Conducting pre-assessment activities for training.
- Skill practice and feedback and planned follow-up support.
- IIA resources, guidelines, and policy documents for TOT.
The workshop will be held on January 25-26, 2023 online via zoom. Charges are KES 10,000 exclusive of VAT. Members in attendance will be awarded 14 CPE Hours.
NATIONAL INDUSTRIAL TRAINING AUTHORITY ACCREDITATION:
The Institute of Internal Auditors Kenya is an accredited training provider with the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA). The NITA registration number is DIT/TRN/558(25b). Participants who are registered levy contributors can apply to NITA for reimbursement of their fees. This applies to Kenyan citizens and is subject to NITA regulations.
