The environment in which we operate is continually changing and associated risks are increasing. The IIA helps internal auditors respond to the current environment by leveraging the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF) to enhance their ability to protect organizational value through risk-based and objective assurance, advice, and insight. This requires a commitment to a framework of principles, practice standards, and guidance to achieve effective Internal auditing in the face of current challenges. The IPPF Master Class seeks to give an in-depth understanding of the framework and provide guidance to internal auditors on the use of IPPF by using real-life illustrations to guide the application of the framework and help address challenges facing the profession.

The workshop will cover:

• Compliance with the Internal Auditing
• Legal and regulatory provisions on the adoption and use of IPPF in Kenya.
• Key changes to IPPF and implementation guidance.
• Managing the Internal Audit activity in conformance with the standards.
• Guidelines on Governance, Risk Management, and Control.
• Provisions of the standards on Engagement Planning and Execution, communicating Engagement results, and follow-up on assurance engagements.
• Develop and maintain a Quality Assurance and Improvement Program.
• Experiences of the adoption of IPPF in Kenya.
• Challenges in the implementation of the IPPF.
• Evolution of IPPF and anticipated changes.
• Code of Ethics and implication for Internal Audit practitioners.

The workshop will be held from February 1-3, 2023 virtually via zoom. Charges are KES 15,000 exclusive of VAT. Members in attendance will earn 20 CPE Hours.

The Institute of Internal Auditors Kenya is an accredited training provider with the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA). The NITA registration number is NITA/TRN/558(25b).
