Mwongozo Code of Governance and the State Corporations Advisory Committee (SCAC) require the Board should ensure that a governance audit of the organization is undertaken on an annual basis. The governance audit is meant to ensure that the organization conforms to the highest standards of good governance.
The workshop targets Board Members, Members of Audit and Risk Committees, Internal Auditors, Legal and Compliance Officers, and Risk and Management professionals in public sectors and private sectors.
The workshop will cover:
- SCAC guidelines on Governance Audit.
- Mwongozo Code provisions on Governance Audit.
- Leadership and strategic management.
- Transparency and Disclosure.
- Compliance with Laws and Regulations.
- Communication with stakeholders.
- Board independence and governance.
- Board systems and procedures.
- Consistent shareholder and stakeholders’ value enhancement.
- Corporate social responsibility and investment.
The workshop will be held from December 13-16, 2022 at Sarova Woodlands Hotel, Nakuru. Charges are KES 40,000 and KES 45,000 exclusive of VAT for members and non-members respectively. Members in attendance will earn 20 CPE Hours.
NATIONAL INDUSTRIAL TRAINING AUTHORITY ACCREDITATION:
The Institute of Internal Auditors Kenya is an accredited training provider with the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA). The NITA registration number is NITA/TRN/558(25b). Participants who are registered levy contributors can apply to NITA for reimbursement of their fees. This applies to Kenyan citizens and is subject to NITA regulations.
