i). External Quality Assessments (EQA)

Carrying out an External Quality Assessment (EQA) for an internal audit function isn’t just a compliance exercise—it’s one of the few ways to prove that your audit function is credible, effective, and aligned with global standards.

The Institute of Internal Auditors requires that every internal audit function undergo an External Quality Assessment at least once every five years under the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF).
